The village of Rock stands alongside the Camel River Estuary, over the water from the pretty harbour town of Padstow. The population of Rock is mainly concerned with sailing. There are numerous boats and yachts anchored in the river and the place is a alive with boats moving in all directions on weekends. Apart from a clutch of essential shops and restaurants including the Michelin starred ‘Black Pig’ and the St. Enodoc golf club, Rock does not have much to offer holidaymakers without a boat. Stroll along Rock Road (where it is sometimes possible to find a free parking space) to see how the wealthy live. It is said that about a third of all the luxury cottages, houses and apartments in Rock are holiday homes and there are some beautiful buildings to admire.
