Nestling just behind the sands of Pentewan Beach you will find the charming coastal holiday village of Pentewan with its own good shop and pub, and a beautiful coastal path that runs through the village and climbs the cliffs up towards Mevagissey. Once you reach the top, the stunning views across the bay towards Devon will take your breath away. Mevagissey is three miles distant and has many good restaurants and is well known for its freshly caught local fish. This is a very good location for a family self catering holiday in south Cornwall. The long sandy gently shelving Pentewan beach is ideal for families, for swimming and watersports. It is such a good beach that it also tends to be used by holidaymakers staying in nearby Mevagissey.

There are lovely places to visit south of Pentewan on a self catering break; the villages of Portmellon, Gorran Haven and further south, the Roseland Peninsula. Visitor attractions within easy driving distance include the historic Charlestown harbour, China Clay Country Park and Museum in Ruddle, the World of Model railways in Mevagissey, and the fabulous Eden Project, with its incredible biospheres and tropical plants.
