As a small village, Ponsworthy is a sleepy little place. One notable attraction though is the Dartmoor Llama Walks that run from the village. Famous for its September fair and ‘Uncle Tom Cobley and all’, the village is a tourist attraction and is well set up to cater for visitors, with two pubs, shops and cafes. It also has an ancient church with a huge tower that is referred to as the cathedral of Dartmoor.
Nearby to Ponsworthy is Dartmeet, where the West Dart and East Dart rivers cross, a spot that is appealing to walkers and is included on many recommended walks. While the immediate countryside is an attraction in itself there are many other attractions and activities further afield on Dartmoor.
