It has 2 full bathrooms, a woodburning stove, wi-fi and landline, and a pretty SW private garden, all set on an idyllic country estate in central South Hams, close to Modbury and Kingsbridge, within very easy reach of Dartmouth, Salcombe and Dartmoor. This luxurious cottage is located on the Colmer Estate which has many facilities for families including year round indoor and summer outdoor heated swimming pools, a gym for fitness enthusiasts, tennis court, fishing lake, croquet lawn, boules, table tennis, basket ball net and games room. The perfect choice for both families and couples, and a magical place to stay!
The Lodge at Colmer offers guests a south-west facing private enclosed garden - a real sun trap and perfect for families. There is a barbecue for informal meals. Three bedrooms/ two baths accommodates 4 adults and 2 children plus cot and z bed. All essential kitchen appliances are supplied including dishwasher, washing machine, fridge/freezer, and a large dining table to seat 8. The sitting room has a wood burning stove, 32" digital television and CD/DVD player (the main bedroom also has a TV) and there is a telephone and WiFi internet provision. Private level driveway with parking for three cars.
The Colmer Estate has 28 acres of its own beautiful and peaceful private grounds which include full access to woodlands, a private fishing lake and meadows. It is wonderfully situated in the heart of the South Hams - an area of outstanding natural beauty in South Devon. There are many beautiful beaches, Dartmoor and the pretty towns of Dartmouth, Totnes and Salcombe all within easy reach.

Top Attractions: There is plenty for families to do on the Colmer Estate plus there are many beautiful beaches such as Bigbury Bay, leading to the famous Burgh Island. This is a great place to windsurf, kite-surf or body-board, but also very safe to potter around rock-pooling. Alternatively head North and you'll be in the wilds of Dartmoor in 15 Minutes. Take steam the train from Buckfastleigh to Totnes with a vintage bus connection. The Visitor's Centre at Princetown Followed by a trip over Dartmoor (beautiful place) and antique shopping in Ashburton or white water rafting and other adventures at the Dart Country Park. Visit the pretty towns of Dartmouth, Totnes, Kingsbridge and Salcombe for a bit of variety and a taste of the area, Torquay and Plymouth for bigger things.
Recommended Places to Visit: Salcombe, Totnes, Dartmouth and Burgh Island are all very close by. Coleton Fishacre (d'Oyley Carte), Greenways (Agatha Christie), Buckland Abbey (Sir Francis Drake) are all great days out close by. The Eden Project together with Lanhydrock are just a one hour drive. Not to be missed - the Aquarium in Plymouth, ideal for a rainy day - very new and allegedly the best in the country. Close to the Mayflower Experience in the picturesque Barbican. It has a fantastic shark tank - the children always love it. Other key attractions are Pennywell Farm, Woodlands Fun Park, Dartmoor Adventure Park, Buckfastleigh steam train, Marble Museum and Butterfly Farm.

Recommended Places to Eat Out: Devon Dining Pub 2009/10/11 the California Country Inn is a short stroll along the lane. Also, within less than 20 minutes drive there are numerous high standard eateries, including the Michelin starred Angelique and Mitch Tonk's Seahorse in Dartmouth, and the Oyster Shack and famour Art Deco Burgh Island hotel in Bigbury. In Salcombe the Winking Prawn at North Sands and the South Sands hotel and South Sands are perfect beachside eateries.
