This village is located close to the border with Somerset and is just 5 miles from the Somerset town of Wellington. Hemyock lies on the River Culm, which flows through the village, creating an idyllic setting for a self-catering retreat.
Hemyock is the largest village on the Blackdown Hills and offers a great range of activities for visitors to choose from during their time here. The most obvious choice of activity is to get out and see the breath-taking landscapes. Cycling, hiking, walking, horse-riding and wildlife-watching are all excellent choices when it comes to exploring the surroundings which are truly unique to this part of the country.
Hemyock is a historical village with a number of special sights. The village even has its own castle but visiting times are limited to Bank Holiday Mondays between Easter and September. Whilst enjoying a cottage holiday here there are also plenty of places to visit nearby including National Trust Houses, Medieval Cathedrals and Castles in Tiverton and Tintagel.
