Looking to take a cottage break within or near to the
North York Moors National Park? Set on hillsides divided by the River Esk, the village of Sleights could be an excellent choice. With the wonderful greenery of the North York Moors on your doorstep, this village is also conveniently located for visiting the coast and
Whitby which is just 4 miles away.
What Sleights offers for Cottage Breaks
Sleights is a largely modern village and lacks the traditional charm of some other North York Moors villages yet is very conveniently located for discovering some of the best of the Yorkshire coast and countryside. This village could be a good choice for those who enjoy fishing as the River Esk runs through the village and offers excellent fly fishing for salmon and trout. There is even a ‘salmon leap’ to help the salmon swim upstream. Fishing permits must be obtained locally. The North York Moors National Park is full of excellent footpaths and good country walks whereas the coastal town of Whitby offers a range of different attractions from the specialist Captain Cook museum to boat trips.
Whether you opt for a
family cottage in Sleights itself or a
rural cottage holiday nearby, we hope you have the best of times in beautiful Yorkshire.
Book a Sleights cottage and look forward to discovering some of the best of North Yorkshire on holiday.
