Take the cliff lift linking the pier and the town in what is the oldest water balanced cliff lift in the country. Opened in 1869, the pleasure pier is the town’s pride and joy. Something that should appeal to all the family is Saltburn Valley Gardens and Woodland Centre. As well as formal gardens and flower beds, there is an orienteering course and the remains of an old corn mill. You can get refreshments in the tea rooms and marvel at the miniature railway on display.
