Why Rent a Holiday Cottage in Southwold?

Southwold is one of Suffolk’s premier seaside resorts and has lots to keep visitors entertained on holiday.

What Does Southwold Offer for a Coastal Break?

As one of Suffolk’s main coastal resorts, Southwold has lots to offer for self-catering breaks and is a great place to relax by the sea.  Like nearby Aldeburgh, Southwold lies within the Suffolk Coast and Heaths AONB, an absolutely stunning area.

Southwold has quite an upmarket feel with a number of greens, grand Victorian buildings and an attractive seafront. The High Street has art galleries, tea shops and a variety of independent shops.  There is also a sandy beach with colourful beach huts, pier and harbour.  Whether you are planning a romantic self-catering break or a family holiday by the sea, we hope you enjoy browsing through the cottages shown below.

There is a boating lake near the pier and the pier itself has a variety of attractions from cafes to amusements and arcades. Guided tours are available of Southwold Lighthouse.  Boat trips operate from the harbour and from the river.  The town also has a golf course.  Open in the summer time is Southwold Maize Maze where you can enjoy exploring a total of 8 acres of puzzles. If you enjoy visiting gardens then you may want to visit the gardens nearby at Melford Hall in Long Melford or at Ickworth House.

In terms of family attractions, Pleasurewood Hills is located just north of Lowestoft and has a range of rides and attractions. Adventure Island Play Park is at Lowestoft and the award winning Easton Farm Park with its soft play area is located near Woodbridge.  Southwold has its own museum and Tourist Information Centre.
