Ashwood house is a much in demand family sized holiday home near the village of Grampound in Cornwall. Grampound lies along the A390 that leads from St. Austell to Truro. This detached brick built property stands in beautifully maintained mature gardens, in a secluded location. It is a spacious house that has been attractively styled to provide comfortable and pleasing holiday accommodation.The living room is a bright airy room that has a contemporary glass fronted fire built into the wall. An initial basket of logs is provided for the fire. A large television stands in one corner of the room, large sofas are arranged around it for a good view. The dining room is connected in an adjacent part of the L-shape. Here you will find an oak dining table and six chairs, a cupboard for crockery and glassware for your meals.
In the large, bright and colourful contemporary kitchen you will find the food storage and preparation area as well as another table for breakfast and a large sofa. The kitchen is generously supplied with just about everything that you might require to live well during your holiday as you would in your own home. Cook on the electric Aga cooker, warm up ready-bought meals and snacks in the microwave. A dishwasher will help keep the decks clean and tidy and deal with dirty dishes. There are enough kitchen cupboards where you can store your holiday groceries, a fridge freezer for fresh and frozen food, plus a wine cooler to maintain your wine and beer at a satisfactory temperature. The utility room houses a washing machine and tumble dryer.
A shower room with WC is also conveniently situated on the ground floor.
A very welcome feature about this property is a covered outdoor area in the back garden that has a large table seating and a barbecue. A patio heater adds warmth on chilly evenings. Enjoy eating outdoors during any season despite the weather. Chairs, tables and sun loungers are dotted about the garden so that you can always escape the family and find a quiet place to read a book or just snooze in the sunshine.
The three bedrooms are all situated upstairs. A wooden staircase leads upstairs to the bedrooms which all lead off a spacious landing. There are two generously proportioned king-size bedrooms and a twin bedroom. The first king size bedroom contains its own big en-suite bathroom complete with a full size bath. The second king size bedroom has a smart modern shower room and the third twin room also has its own equally elegant shower room. The bedrooms all contain chests of drawers where you can store your holiday clothing. Beautiful rural and woodland views greet you from the bedroom windows.
This holiday home is pet friendly so that you can bring your best friends to enjoy it with you. They would certainly enjoy the garden. An enclosed dog walking field near the house is another location where you can take the pet for its morning and evening walk if you’re not taking them out for the day.
You may wish to pop in and inspect the local brewery and a pub - both offer opportunities for sampling the regional Cornish ales and ciders.
The bike park at Kernow may have a certain appeal for families with teenage children. Cornwall is famous for its gardens and both the famous Lost Gardens of Heligan and the Eden Project are two places to visit nearby. The Roseland Peninsula is also a short drive away. This area is renowned for its wild flowers and coastal scenery. The National Trust Trelissick garden is in the same location. The coast is dotted with beautiful villages of Cornish charm such as Megavissey and Portmellon. Two of Cornwall’s stunning sandy beaches at Gorran Haven and Porthcurnick would give the children a great day out.
