With country lanes and rural charm, Lee Common is a great location for a relaxed break.  With excellent walks and cycle routes to discover in the Chiltern Hills, this is a lovely place to enjoy exploring the great outdoors and is also well placed for discovering some fantastic tourist attractions on days out too.

On days out visit charming local villages and towns such as Wendover with its chocolate café, Great Missenden which is home to the Roald Dahl Museum, Berkhamsted with its historic castle ruins and pretty canal-side and Tring with its park and Natural History Museum.

The Ridgeway walking route criss-crosses through the Chiltern Hills and the National Trust’s Ashridge Estate near Aldbury is a popular place for woodland walks.

There are also fascinating National Trust sites to visit within an hour’s drive such as Waddesdon Manor and Stowe Landscape Gardens.  Blenheim Palace with its extensive grounds and rich history is within an hour’s drive too, as is the historical city of Oxford.

London is a forty minute, direct train ride from Great Missenden and so you can enjoy the best of both worlds from Inglenook Cottage; the outstanding natural beauty of The Chiltern Hills close at hand, as well as quick and easy access to central London.

Great Missenden

Lee Common village, near Great Missenden, is a small rural village situated in the beautiful Chiltern Hills - officially classified as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The village is approximately three miles from the towns of Great Missenden, Amersham and Chesham where trains to London operate a direct, forty minute,twice hourly service. Lee Common is within easy reach of Luton and London Heathrow airports and most major motorways. There are good pubs/restaurants and a village shop within walking distance of Inglenook Cottage. There are many footpaths and cycle routes in the immediate area and an 18 hole golf course close by. The Lee is famous as the quintessentially English village location in which the TV series "Midsomer Murders" is filmed.
