If so, Rambling Rose with its 3 comfortable bedrooms, very pet-friendly policy and excellent location, nestled in a pretty village which is surrounded by unspoilt countryside, only around a mile from the local beach could be the perfect choice.
With special touches like the complimentary cream tea on arrival, warming woodburner and private secluded garden with sociable patio area, you’re sure to feel at home right away at Rambling Rose. This welcoming holiday home sleeps 6 and is one of 2 semi-detached cottages, set in a conservation area. There is an interconnecting door so if booked together, Rambling Rose and it’s neighbour sleep 10. Book just one cottage or both, depending on your group size.
Welcoming up to 4 pet dogs, this is a very dog-friendly holiday home where you and your pets will be very welcome.
There are good walks from the door to dog friendly beaches, making this an ideal holiday home for keen walkers and dog owners alike. For those who enjoy a sociable tipple, the village pub just a five minute walk from the cottage too!
Inside this 3 Bedroom Pet-Friendly Cottage near Bigbury-on-Sea

•Sociable dining room with exposed beams, ornamental fireplace and steps leading to kitchen,
•Well equipped fitted kitchen (steps lead from dining room in to this room) with glazed front porch which leads to the terrace and enclosed private and dog proof garden.
• A utility room with washing machine.
•Upstairs are two bedrooms
- Sunny double aspect bedroom with a king sized bed and garden views,
- Another double aspect room with a super king sized room (can be made up as twin beds if requested), with an additional guest bed.
- The above 2 bedrooms share access to a bathroom with bath (shower over), basin and WC.
- Another set of stairs lead from the dining room to a triple aspect bedroom with a double bed, plus ensuite bathroom. This room is ideal for family members who would prefer more privacy.
Outside is a lovely cottage garden with a sociable patio area, secluded and edged by greenery, this is a real oasis where you can enjoy dining alfresco or having a BBQ (there is brick-built BBQ).
One night’s logs provided for the woodburner. Eco friendly cleaning products are provided for your use at the cottage, including dishwasher tablets, surface cleaner and washing up liquid. Baby sitting and dog walking is also available by arrangement (additional costs apply).
No smoking allowed.
Lockable storage is available for bikes and beach equipment.

More outdoor pursuits can be enjoyed in nearby Dartmoor National Park, and the picturesque sailing towns of Salcombe and Dartmouth are just a short drive away.

Local Attractions near Kingston
Top Attractions: Glorious beaches, a short drive to Dartmoor. Coastal towns of Salcombe, Dartmouth and the riverside villages of Newton Ferrers and Noss Mayo.
Recommended Places to Visit: Places to visit. Salcombe, Totnes and Dartmouth are well worth a visit. They are coastal towns with an array of water sports and boat trips. There are also lovely shops here; Fat Face, Crew, Musto, Henri Lloyd, Sea Salt, to name a few. Totnes also has a family friendly pottery. The estuary villages of Newton Ferrers and Noss Mayo are beautiful, with good pubs and coastal walks. Widecombe in the Moor still has the famous Widecombe Fair. This is a very traditional Dartmoor village the a very old pub! Ashburton has many antique shops and is the gateway to Dartmoor. There is a fresh fish shop here. Kingsbridge, a waterfront town is a 15 minute drive from the cottage. It has 2 supermarkets, a good range of independent shops, and a leisure centre with indoor pool. Kingsbridge is a waterfront town, offering paddle boarding lessons and a boat trips to Salcombe. The Georgian town of Modbury is the closest town with a good selection of independent shops, a GP surgery and vet. There are gardens worth a visit at Lukesland, near Ivybridge. Occasionally, nearby Mothercombe House and Flete House have an open garden day and these are well worth a visit. If you are visiting during April/May you will notice a point to point race being advertised at Flete. This is country horse racing at its best and is a lovely day out. It is very popular with local people taking picnics and enjoying a bet on the races. For children of all ages there are Woodlands fun park and there are leaflets on this and many other attractions in the cottage. Plymouth (a waterfront City) has many interesting places to visit. The Barbican, The National Marine aquarium, The Hoe to name a few. There is also an indoor go-karting circuit at Ernesettle near Plymouth. The Vue Cinema in Plymouth is on a leisure complex which also has ten pin bowling and several restaurants. At Bovey Tracey there is a pottery where you can throw your own pots and decorate them. It also has a lovely tea room. Very close to this is the House of Marbles which has a lovely toy and gift shop. It also has an amazing marble run in the shop. Trago Mills is also close to Bovey Tracey. Here there is a small steam railway. It also has a really lovely indoor model railway exhibition (featured several times on Television and Blue Peter). On the site, there are several attractions here, such as go karts, a boating lake, dodgems etc. The store itself sells everything and you can pick up some bargains there!! It has a huge and impressive garden centre, with everything you could wish for. There are also garden centres at Ivybridge (Endsleigh), and Otter Nurseries at Brixton. Both garden centres have restaurants and sell clothing, shoes and household goodies. At Buckfastleigh, there is the South Devon Steam Railway and also the Butterfly farm. The steam railway runs to Paignton and Kingswear from where you can take a ferry to Dartmouth.

Recommended Places to Eat Out: There are a number of really lovely pubs and restaurants to recommend. The places mentioned below have been tried and tested by us. The Dolphin Inn. (Dog friendly) Just a stroll away from the cottage, with good pub food. You may need to reserve a table as it very popular with locals. The Modbury Inn. Run by someone from the village. Mention you are staying with Jerry and Liz in Kingston. Good pub grub! The California Cross Inn. Reliably good food. The garage at California Cross sells the COOK range of foods for coking at home and are excellent. You can also order these on line from COOK. The food is excellent if you want to eat in. The Journeys End Inn. (Dog friendly) This pub is situated in Ringmore, the neighbouring village. The pub offers pub food with a twist. The chef here used to work at the Burgh island hotel and has won awards for his cooking. Booking is essential. The Plantation House Hotel. This is a hotel and restaurant, also in Ermington. It is expensive, but lovely for a special occasion. The Rose and Crown. This pub is in the village of Yealmpton and offers a good menu. The Ship Inn. (Dog friendly) This is at Noss Mayo. This is a lovely pub, situated on the estuary. Please note that the car park is tidal!!!! The Oyster Shack. This is a fish-based restaurant in Aveton Gifford. The food is lovely, but the menu can be limited for non-fish eaters and it isn?t the cheapest place to eat. The Crabshell Inn. Kingsbridge. This is on the river at Kingsbridge. If the weather is warm, it is lovely to sit outside and eat. They serve a lovely breakfast. The Steam Packet. Totnes. This is on the river at Totnes, and again lovely to eat outside in the summer. The White Heart Modbury. Excellent food. The Gastro Bus at Bantham Beach. 07592811277Excellent reviews, burgers, ciabattas, hot dogs and drinks. The Ring Feeder, near California Cross is a new eating place. We haven?t been but several of my friends have and enjoyed it. They serve breakfast as well. The Ring Feeder cafe - In Salcombe, you have the Victoria Inn and the Ferryboat Inn. The Ferryboat Inn has a garden overlooking the estuary. Mothercombe School House is a restaurant, cafe, bar & takeaway located on the stunning Flete Estate, on the edge of Mothecombe beach car park, just a few minutes walk from the wonderful Mothecombe beach, opposite to Wonwell.
