Ashbourne is the southern capital of the Peak District where you will find an excellent market on Thursdays and the town is full of lovely antique shops for browsing in. There is a super cycle trail that starts on the edge of town in Mapleton Lane where they hire out bikes for all ages and abilities, also disabilities (telephone 01335 343 156). Tandems are available for extra fun.

It might be an idea to explore the village of Tissington or take a walk through Dovedale and cross the "stepping stones". Another day out could be to visit Bakewell and the home of the famous tart or spend a day at glorious Chatsworth - the home of the Dukes of Devonshire.
