Matlock is a super place to stay for a holiday in the Peak District if you like to have shops, eateries, parks and other amenities within walking distance. However, as always when renting accommodation in a town, there are often parking restrictions such as resident only parking, double yellow lines, meters and a shortage of free places to park. This can be annoying if you rent a holiday home and need to carry bags of shopping back. The ideal is to find a holiday rental that has a driveway or its own private parking space.
All of the Matlock holiday homes shown on this particular page have some off-street parking that will make life that bit easier for you during your stay. The very large properties may have enough space for two to three cars but this may be insufficient when renting with a big group of couples because each may arrive in their own vehicle.
Always talk to the property owner about parking before booking and especially if you have any people with impaired mobility planning to join you for your holiday. They know their local part of Matlock and are best able to inform you about the maximum number of cars that can be parked on a driveway and how far the nearest locations are for free street parking.
The last thing that anyone want to have to do during a holiday in Matlock is to get up early to begin feeding a parking meter at 8am.
