The Holiday Home: About Garth Country House
6 Bedroom Powys Country House with Valley ViewsWith 6 en-suite bedrooms, Garth Country House is ideal for groups of up to 16 friends or family looking to holiday altogether. Whether for a family get together or a special celebration, this spacious property is a great place to relax and unwind with its sociable lounge, its well-equipped kitchen and beamed dining area with inglenook fireplace and wood burner. There is fibre broadband and a Smart TV with lots of entertainment.
There are 6 comfortable bedrooms sleeping a total of up to 16 people.
Layout of Bedrooms:
Bedroom 1 : king size bed and one single bed (can be arranged as 3 singles when requested in advance).
Bedroom 2: double bed and single bed.
Bedroom 3: double bed and single bed.
Bedroom 4: king-sized bed (can be arranged as 2 singles when requested in advance).
Bedroom 5: King-size bed and single bed (can be arranged as 3 singles when requested in advance)
Bedroom 6: double bed (reached via a steep staircase).
Facilities to play table tennis make for fun times. There is also a treasure hunt on site (grown ups can play too!).
Outdoors is a lovely private Mediterranean style garden with monkey puzzle tree where you can dine alfresco or enjoy a BBQ (there is a big gas BBQ on a covered deck).
Lake with swimming and canoes 350 metres from the house.
This is a great area for walking with good walks from the doorstep; from a 45 minute walk through the oak wood to the wonderful views from the Garth 'Hill' and several 2-3 hour circular walks. Maps can be provided. For day trips out, the pretty riverside town of Builth Wells is within a 40 minute drive and the coast and the pretty seaside town of Aberystwyth is within an hour’s drive

We have just returned from a 6 night stay at Garth Country House and would highly recommend it. We had a wonderful time and although the weather wasn't great it didn't matter as there was plenty of room to do a wide variety of activities. The lake was enjoyed by everyone and the races in the Kayaks were great fun. Veronica and John were fantastic, always there when needed but not intrusive at all. If you are looking for a great family or friends getaway, I would definitely recommend Garth.
We have just returned from a wonderful six nights at Garth Country House. The weather was not great but there was still plenty to do with lots of space for a range of indoor activities including table tennis and a covered BBQ area.
The lake and surrounding countryside were amazing too. The six en-suite bedrooms were perfect for our extended family and I have never been anywhere with such a well equipped kitchen. Veronica and John were excellent hosts. Helpful but not intrusive. Highly recommended
