What Knocknagoshel offers for Cottage Breaks

Knocknagoshel is a charming Irish village and sampling life in a part of Ireland where not many people visit can be a perfect way to get away from it all. Knocknagoshel has just the sense of tranquillity needed for a relaxing cottage break away. With lovely little shops, cafes, pubs and tearooms, it makes a wonderful place to kick back and relax in gorgeous County Kerry.

The village is home to a very interesting festival each year. Started by the Knocknagoshel Halloween Group, a thrilling ghost trail takes place during this scary holiday which starts in the village church and takes in spooky spots of the settlement, ending in the funeral home. Thousands of people from all over Ireland attend this creepy festival which started in 1994, and if you happen to be taking a cottage holiday in Knocknagoshel during the Bank holiday weekend in October then joining in on this trail is simply a must!

Another festival worth attending is the Pattern Festival, held in the middle of August at the height of summer. This event sees local villagers joining in with Mass and a trip to the Holy Well as well as ribbon twirling competitions to traditional Irish music. There is also the Nelius O’Connor Traditional Music Festival which occurs annually in November. This is a wonderful festival if you love Irish music, and you can see brilliant bands, talented singers and enchanting storytellers from all over Ireland.

Knocknagoshel is small but has a great sense of community with a wide range of festivals occurring throughout the year. It is a fantastic place in which to relax and unwind on a self-catering holiday while soaking up some local Irish culture. Whether your ideal place to stay is a romantic cottage, a chalet, a log cabin or a rural hideaway, we hope you find perfect accommodation for you on Country Cottages Online.
