We have a lovely selection of English Country Cottages at Country Cottages Online.

England is famous for its thatched and half timbered cottages and farmhouses. There are thatched villages, all picture postcard perfect, mainly in rural parts of Cornwall, Devon and Suffolk.

The other really nice aspect of our country cottages is the 'English country cottage garden'. A country cottage garden is a specific style of gardeining that is associated with cottages in the country. We expect to see roses and clematis rambling around a porch, flowers and plants growing closely in a haphazard way that blends harmoniously. There are likely to be hollyhocks, pinks, forget-me-nots and similar 'cottage garden' flowers that together create that rural idyll that constitutes a real English country cottage. If you love greenery why not find a cottage with a rural view?

The cottage would be a period dwelling, perhaps beamed but definitely not this century. Ideally it would be located in a country lane or beside a village green. The thatched cottage shown on the right is a cottage in Cornwall.
