Nestled in expansive beautiful grounds of 3.5 acres, just outside of the quaint village of Shutford and the idyllic English Cotswolds, whether for a luxury break with family or friends, Beggars Barn is bound to impress.
Beautiful inside and out, this high quality holiday accommodation is a real treat.
Beggars Barn Luxury Self-Catering comprises of:
• A large country house with 6 bedrooms,
• An annexe with 2 en-suite bedrooms,
• A 2 bedroom lodge.
Outside is an inviting outdoor swimming pool (open from my April to October), as well as a warm bubbly hot tub (by arrangement).
For BBQs whatever the weather there is a BBQ lodge and a large plate gas BBQ as well as a fire pit BBQ for a sizzling time.
This is a fantastic family-friendly property with a sunken trampoline in the garden, and ample comfy outdoor seating and dining tables.
For fun times, in the Stables Annexe there is a cinema/games/party room with 75” smart TV, bar, and disco lighting for partying the night away. Also bound to keep guests entertained is the games table with air hockey, pool and table tennis, as well as two outdoor table tennis tables. For more fun outdoors there is a football net, a croquet set, badminton rackets and boules.
For those who like to keep fit there is even a well-equipped gym.
The Layout of the Accommodation at Beggars Barn, near the Cotswolds:
• The main country house with 6 bedrooms:
• Snug with woodburning fire, TV with Sky and comfy seating,
• A drawing room with woodburning stove and elegant seating,
• A fully equipped luxurious kitchen,
• A small bone kitchen/dining room with 2 ovens, a microwave, a dishwasher, 2 sinks, and a dining table seating 20-22 guests,
• A formal dining room to seat up to 16 people,
• A utility room with washing machine, dryer, dishwasher and further cloakroom,
• 6 Bedrooms comprising of:
o A master bedroom with luxurious ensuite bathroom,
o A bedroom with super king-sized bed and en-suite facilities (can be made up as twin on request),
o A family bedroom with super king-sized bed (can be made up as a twin on request) plus 2 single beds and a cot,
o A bedroom with a super king-sized bed (can be made up as a twin on request),
o A further bedroom with a super king-sized bed (can be made up as a twin on request),
o A downstairs bedroom with a super king-sized bed (can be made up as a twin on request) and French doors that open out to the garden
• Outside the main house are beautiful gardens and a generous patio area with comfy large sofa suites, dining tables, a gas BBQ, a firepit and patio heaters,
• The Stables self-contained annexe with 2 en-suite bedrooms:
o A spacious open plan living space complete with bar, A 75” TV with Sky TV and BT sport and games facilities with a 3 in 1 games table with table tennis, pool and air hockey,
o A kitchenette with sink, fridge, microwave with hob, dishwasher, Nespresso coffee maker, kettle and toaster,
o 2 en-suite bedrooms each with a king-sized bed (can be made up as twins on request),
o An additional bathroom with shower,
o Two luxurious sofa beds (one double size and one king-size),
• The 2 bedroom lodge:
o Open plan living area with seating area and dining table, kitchen area with hob, oven, microwave, dishwasher and fridge/freezer,
o A double bedroom,
o A bedroom with twin beds,
o A bathroom with a larger shower,
o Use of an arctic cabin with an internal charcoal BBQ.

Top Attractions: Walks Glorious walks around and about ? with pub stops en route depending on which route you choose. Wellies or walking boots recommended. Shutford Circular Walk to the George and Dragon is Shutford Pub for the Sibfords Historic Walks ?Wykham Arms great pub at Sibford Gower Shenington and Alkerton Walk ? The Bell pub under new management and the food is good ?.and then there is always up through and around the woods or cross country or round the lanes to Balscote pub and back?or just up the lane and into the village to the closest local Places to Visit for Children: Shutford - Dairy Ground has some playthings for children Fairytale Farm is near Chipping Norton, Redwing Horse Sanctuary on the way to Stratford Upon Avon Butterfly Farm, Stratford upon Avon Golf ? local courses in and around Banbury. And our neighbours have a private 9 hole course which you can play ? they just ask for a donation per head towards their chosen charity (?15-20 I think). Zorbing ? we believe there is a place at Warwick, about 20 mins drive away from us. Bubble Football! Cycling ? not for the faint hearted as its quite hilly around here (although no local bike hire companies that I am aware of sadly) Clay pigeon shooting ? Edge Hill Go Carting at Shenington, Banbury, Gaydon and Aylesbury. LaserQuest & PaintBall ? Warwick Flying & Gliding at Shenington Flying at Enstone Narrow boat hire ? Oxfordshire Narrowboats day boat(s) at Thrupp Wharf, just this side of Oxford. The best pretty bits of the Southern Oxford Canal are around there and not that many locks either. ? Also Lower Heyford ? The closest one is Dancing Duck at Tooleys here in Banbury but if you head south from Banbury the locks are more spread out and the M40 is never far away.
