It is essential to have wide doorways in holiday cottages when wheelchair users stay for easy access. Spacious accommodation with plenty of turning circles and flat flooring is also essential. The holiday cottages listed below all have wide doorways, please check whether the accommodation is suitable in other ways. We all have an image of ideal self-catering accommodation but sometimes compromises have to be made because of location or availability. The important thing is to ensure that any wheelchair user is able to get around the cottage and do all the things they need to independently.

Do call the cottage owner and discuss what assistance may be available. Sometimes, the owners do not advertise what assistance they are able to provide but are extremely helpful in reality.
