The following holiday cottages all advertise that they are wheelchair accessible, independent or assisted, for guests searching for accessible holidays. Some of the accessible cottages are M2 or M3 assessed according to the National Accessible Scheme criteria, which is the main assessment scheme for self-catering accommodation in the UK. If properties have been assessed and rated for their accessibility and achieved and M2 or M3 rating, this will be stated on listings.
Remember that with some cottage complexes that they may only have one or two cottages with disabled friendly features. Always check that your chosen cottage fully meets your requirements before confirming a booking. Similarly if you have a disability which means that you require full wheelchair access, we recommend that you check with the property owner or agency that there is level access, no steps and wheelchair wide doorways both to entrance and throughout the property to ensure a happy holiday. Weekend and mid-week breaks are generally available during low season only unless there are cancellations.
Facilities vary from property to property, although all wheelchair accessible cottages should be level access or have a ramped approach to the cottage. Some prefer to book wheelchair accessible cottages with both a ground floor bedroom and bathroom. Some properties may have a few steps to the entrance. It’s important to check that parking is available nearby too.
