There are plenty of small country cottages in every rural area in the UK and Ireland. There are occasions, however, when people need a big country cottages for a family get-together, perhaps two or three members of the same family holidaying together with their partners and children.
A big cottage may be a farmhouse and provide spacious rooms and that all important large farmhouse kitchen with an enormous table to seat everyone. Although the occupancy of the house needs to right, with enough bedrooms to sleep everyone comfortably, it is also helpful to ensure enough living space so that people do not feel crowded. Sometimes it is worth considering renting a cottage that has more than the required occupancy, simply to give people additional living space.
