We are blessed with a large choice of good clean safe beaches. The south of England tends to be busy with lots of people heading for the beach on warm days, but try going further north for secluded and unspoilt beaches where you don't have to fight for your patch of sand, perhaps Wales, Northumberland or Yorkshire.
