Ventnor is a charming seaside town on the south side of the Isle of Wight. It is the ideal destination for family self catering holidays in apartments and cottages. The mainly sand with some golden shingle beach features beach huts. Deck chairs, sun beds and wind breaks can be hired by the day. The road behind the beach has eateries and entertainment. A small harbour to the east of the beach has a fresh fish shop where visitors can purchase their choice of the daily catch to cook back at their holiday cottage. The Oceanblue Quay offers a choice of restaurants - always welcome on holiday.
The Ventnor Botanic Garden is a place to stroll around on a sunny day. There are parks of children, an outdoor paddling pool and a leisure complex. A short drive from Ventnor in a westerly direction is the Blackgang Chine Theme Park with traditional entertainment for children and plenty of interesting exhibits for adults too.
The Isle of Wight is a smallish island, the main town of Newport is under 11 miles away from Ventnor - everywhere is within reach if you have a car. The public bus service is reliable.
