Holiday cottages for self-catering holidays - Sandford, Isle of Wight
Sandford is a hamlet on the A3020 going eastwards out of Godshill towards Shanklin. This a pretty road with a few thatched cottages and pleasant scenery.
The Village of Godshill is most popular with visitors who come to admire the lovely thatched cottages, the Model Village, to browse at the superb giftshops and to eat at one of several eateries. Visitors at the end of April and early May might enjoy a walk to the Teddy Bear shop just to catch the wonderful scent of the Wisteria that adorns one of its walls. This is an interesting village that looks as if it belongs to a bygone age. A large free car park with public conveniences makes visiting easy.
Sandford is a short drive away from Shanklin on the east coast, a seaside town with a Blue Flag beach and botanic gardens. A cottage stay in the village of Sandford offers the greenery and calm of the countryside fairly near interesting towns and villages - a good spot for a self-catering base.
Country cottages shown are within about 5 miles of Sandford.
