Papplewick is a hamlet with houses strung along a road junction north of Hucknall.  The Griffin Pub in Papplewick is recommended for its  lunches; something to bear in mind if you holiday in Papplewick. One place to visit during a stay in this area is Leen Valley Country Park and Duck Ponds. Children always enjoy feeding ducks and it's a relaxing thing to do on holiday.
