Whoever designed the interior made an excellent job of it; the property oozes style and quality. The huge open-plan living area is divided into sitting, dining and kitchen sections. Plus, there is another separate sitting room. Oil fired underfloor heating keeps the ground-floor cosy and the woodburners in both sitting areas add ambiance and gentle heat if needed.

The second sitting room makes an ideal quiet area, away from the hustle and bustle of the kitchen. Furnished in natural tones, this room has large windows and patio doors that allow for good views to the gardens. A television sits on a low unit and a woodburner stands in the corner with a basket of logs beside it.

The big open-plan room, the heart of the home, also has attractive seating, a widescreen tv on a cupboard, a log burner and a piano. Have a singsong, play a few tunes and enjoy an improvised soiree on holiday. Walk through to the middle of the room and the dining area where you will find the big table that seats ten people. Further on, is an impressive kitchen that has fitted cupboards to three sides and a work table in the centre. Everyone would love this kitchen with its large American-style fridge freezer, the big electric range for cooking, the dishwasher that helps with the clearing up and a washing machine to keep the family looking spick and span throughout the holiday.

There is also a groundfloor cloakroom with WC and washbasin.

There are 5 Bedrooms:

• Two double bedrooms are on the ground floor, with good quality divan beds, fitted furniture and their own shower rooms. Heated towel rails are there to warm your bath towels after a shower.
   
• A first floor master bedroom with the bonus of its own en-suite bathroom with a bath and shower. There is also a television if you like to watch TV in bed.

• A further first floor double bedroom,

• A first floor twin bedroom.  

Outside is a patio area with high quality modern garden seating where you can sit out and enjoy garden views and the rural setting. There is more than ample room for guest’s cars. This is a superb house for a superb holiday in Northumberland.

The setting near Ewesley is close to the national park and to Fontburn Reservoir fisheries. Hire a boat and go fishing for a day or two.  A little further to the east is Todburn Equestrian Centre – a good outdoorsy holiday is here in the making.

You could have a wide choice of coastal places to visit for a day trip including Alnwick, Warkworth and Amble. If you haven’t visited the northeast of England before, this could be the year. People heading to the south and the coasts always end up in long traffic jams, go away from the flow to the beautiful rural areas of Northumberland and enjoy the stunning scenery and tranquillity.
