Most of the furnishings are antique and unique. Accommodation includes a huge sitting room with an open fire and mahogany panelling from the grand ocean liner the Mauretania, an elegant dining room, breakfast room which leads out to the patio where you can dine al fresco, period kitchen with all modern conveniences including 2 fridge freezers and 2 cookers (9 hobs!). There are also eight stylish bedrooms and five bathrooms (three are ensuite).
Outside is a garden for the children and off road parking for up to 4 cars. Centrally located with excellent Motorway (M62 & M1 2mls & 12 mls), Train: (Brighouse Station is a mile away), Ferry Liverpool and Hull and Airport Links (Manchester and Leeds / Bradford Airports are just 35m drive away). Ravensprings is a great favourite with International Visitors or people coming home and wishing to reunite with their families for holidays. Prices include: Linen (towels are extra), central heating, Sky + films and sports, Wifi internet access in every room and booking cancellation insurance up to 15 guests.Inside this grand mansion house there is a period entrance hall, an impressive panelled sitting room with fabulous high beams, open fire and comfortable seating for 18 people, a lovely dining room which seats up to 22 and has views over Ravensprings Moel Railway Park, a kitchen complete with all mod cons including a microwave, two ovens, dishwasher and fridge freezer and a separate breakfast room. Also on the ground floor is a double bedroom with shower which is located opposite from the downstairs WC which has a washing machine, ironing board and iron. This bedroom is ideal for those who wish to avoid stairs or find stairs difficult.
On the first floor there are 4 spacious bedrooms. The master bedroom features a romantic four poster bed and en-suite bathroom. There is also a bedroom with a super king-size bed and en-suite shower room, an Edwardian bedroom with an antique wrought iron bed and a bedroom featuring an antique French oak built double bed. Also on this floor is a family bathroom with bath, shower and twin sinks.
On the second floor there is a huge family bedroom with 6 single beds. Also on the top floor is a separate shower room with WC, and two further bedrooms; the Attic bedroom with a double bed and an en suite loo, and the Victorian bedroom with a king size bed and an extra single bed.
Outside there is an enclosed garden where the children can play as well as a patio barbeque area and ample outdoor seating. Parking is available for up to 4 cars. Outside is off road parking for up to 4 cars as well.
Prices shown are for 18 guests but we can offer up to 4 extra comfortable beds for larger groups.
There is a lot to do nearby with a wide choice of sports and activities available and plenty to see and do within an hour’s drive. Ravensprings’ central location make it a great base for touring Yorkshire as well as for discovering some of the best of Lancashire and Derbyshire. Discover art galleries, historical country houses, gardens, agricultural shows, markets, theatres and museums on days out and enjoy sampling the fare at local Gastro pubs and restaurants which offer a wide range of cuisines. Or drive in to Leeds and enjoy some retail therapy. There is something for all ages and Ravensprings is a unique and comfortable holiday home to return to.
Nearby attractions include Bronte’s Country, discover Howarth with its charming cobbled streets and visit Bronte’s Parsonage. Also recommended for a visit are Yorkshire Sculpture Park and the Henry Moore Gallery. Children should enjoy a visit to the Eureka Children's Science Museum. The National Mining Museum may also be of interest. Also well worth a visit are the beautiful Dales and the Moors which are wonderful for walking and there are miles and miles of tow paths for those who enjoy cycling. There is a choice of 10 Golf Courses locally as well as a choice of stables for horse riding.
Other places to visit for days out include the World Heritage Site; Salts Mills at Saltaire with the David Hockney Gallery, museums, shops and galleries, the National Trust’s Harewood House, the elegant spa town of Harrogate as well as the historical city of York with its impressive Minster, museums and theatres, shops bars and restaurants. Halifax and Huddersfield with their stunning Victorian architecture are also worth a visit. Or why not just enjoy relaxing on the sumptuous couches in the sitting room in front of an open fire or enjoy relaxing outdoors in the garden? This could be a perfect place to stay where you can enjoy the comforts of home living combined with a great choice of activities and interests for all the family in all weathers. Brighouse is a hidden treat. Brighouse may not immediately come to mind when planning a self-catering cottage holiday in Yorkshire, but it has some surprises in store that make it a desirable destination. It’s also a great base for anyone interested in walking and seeing more of the Calderdale area of West Yorkshire on a cottage holiday. Major walking routes can be accessed, including the famous Pennine Way, the Brighouse Boundary Walk and Calderdale Way making this an excellent choice for a self-catering walking holiday.
