Description: About Bakers Mill Holiday Cottages
Bakers Mill Farm is a 17th century working farm situated in the beautiful, tranquil Axe valley, within the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty of West Dorset, perfect for a relaxing break, yet easy distance from the historic market towns, picturesque villages and jurassic coast. The cottages are dog friendly and there are a couple of long distance paths and many walks from the cottages.Wildlife abounds on the 200 acre Dorset farm, and you can see rabbits, foxes, badgers and deer, which can frequently be seen grazing near the cottages. There is an abundance of birdlife too with heron, geese, ducks, swans and buzzards all inhabiting the farm, along with many smaller species.
Our Grade II listed stone barn in Beaminster sleeps 6 in 3 bedrooms, one with king size hand carved four poster, the other two rooms being twin bedded. All have en-suites.
We have just opened a wheelchair friendly cottage sleeping 4 in two double bedrooms with en-suite wet room and shower room and room for two to sleep on a sofa bed if required in the sitting room.
We have 4 terraced Dorset cottages sleeping 3 in one and 2 in each of the other 3. We can sleep 15 in total with 2 cots and a chair bed too. All our accommodation is centrally heated for year round holidays, and all have fully equipped fitted kitchens, and distinctive cottage interiors. All our accommodation is situated in a courtyard, featuring a rill leading to a small pond. A games room with snooker, table tennis, table football, darts and toys for small children, books, maps and wireless broadband is situated in the courtyard along with a laundry with drying and ironing facilities to compliment the washing machines in the cottages. Large groups can have exclusive use of our facilities for entertaining - either in the games room or the courtyard depending on the weather. Pets are welcome - there are plenty of walks from the door. Nearby we have our own private coarse fishing lakes for your use.
Warm, cosy, very well equipped and clean, quiet, excellent beds, perfect for the dogs, exceeded expectations, great games room, excellent value for money - these are some of the comments we receive time and again in our visitor books. Visitors return to us frequently and some come several times a year.
Karen and Tracey are always on hand to take your calls at any reasonable time of the day and will do their utmost to help you. They are both owners of more than one dog each and know you will want to take your beloved pets on holiday with you.
