Description: About Pig-Of-Lead

Bonsall on the eastern edge of the Peak District is an attractive place to stay for a holiday centred on the national park. The village has a clutch of typical stone buildings in the centre and moss topped stone walls lining part of the high street. The majority of houses are grey in colour and are virtually built on the pavement although some have a bit of a front garden. The village has that northern feel, of stone, and a long-standing resistance against the elements. The King’s Head Pub and Fountain Tea Rooms are very pleased to welcome visitors and if you are planning to come to the Peak District for a walking holiday, be aware of the golden rule that all walks must end at a pub or tea shop.

The Pig-of-Lead holiday home is a large imposing six bedroomed property. It would be a perfect place to stay for any group of up to twelve hikers, or a big family. Enter through the black double doors into a welcoming hallway that features panelled walls, warm dark brown tiles and a table and chairs of a former age. The spacious hallway leads on to a comfortable sitting room and the name of the house is prominently displayed across the fireplace, above the woodburner. No one will be able to forget the name of where they are staying. Oak beams, blue leather sofas and piano grace this room. A bookshelf offers reading material for bedtime.  Another separate sitting room with a television allows plenty of space for a group to spread out.

This is a house of signs and phrases; large letters spell out the word ‘HOME’ above the cooker in the kitchen. A kitchen table stands in front of the big gas powered range cooker and the built-in dark oak units. Everything that a self-catering holiday group might need is provided: fridge/freezer, washing machine, a tumble dryer and the much appreciated dishwasher. Find plenty of glassware, crockery and cutlery in the drawers and cupboard, All you need to do is to bring the food and drink.  Eat together in the separate dining room.

The house has six bedrooms and six bathrooms which is ideal for a larger group, especially if not related. The accommodation is spread over three floors, so perhaps not suited to elderly guests.
The bedrooms are all styled in a contemporary manner and are as follows:

Four bedrooms are on the first floor:

A double bedroom
a king-size bedroom with TV and its own en-suite shower room, equipped with shower cubicle, washbasin and WC.
a twin bedroom with a TV and an en-suite shower room
a bedrooms with bunk beds and an en-suite

The next floor up has the largest bedrooms:

A super-king-size bedroom with a television and en-suite bathroom, bath with shower overhead, a wash hand basin and toilet
A 2nd bedroom with a super-king-size bed, a TV and en-suite bathroom.

This large holiday home in Bonsall in the east of the Peak District stands in its own fenced garden. There is plenty of parking. The property is centrally heated and has WiFi.

Highchairs and travel cots can be provided.

Pig-of-Lead is a big comfortable holiday home that people would feel relaxed in.  The adjacent bigger town of Matlock has numerous shops including a massive M&S foodhall, a superb family butcher and supermarket.

The lovely Peak District is on your doorstep. What fun you could have exploring and discovering all that it has to offer. There are so many fabulous walks, stone villages, caves, visitor attractions, off road cycle paths…. And it’s wonderful at any time of year.
