The small and charming village of Mynytho is situated within the parish of Llangian along the coast of the Llyn Peninsula in northern Wales. This village is set in truly gorgeous scenery and farmland, with fantastic views over the ocean, making it a perfect little village in which to enjoy a Welsh rural retreat holiday and to recharge your batteries on a relaxing break, where you can lap up the fresh countryside nearby.

What Mynytho offers for Cottage Breaks

Places of interest to discover within the village on a cottage holiday include one of the most famous memorial halls in all of Wales, which has a rich history and a strong connection to Welsh culture and the preservation and recognition for the Welsh language. Another place worth visiting is the Jampot, an old windmill standing on the Foel Twr hill which overlooks the village.  The windmill was never really used, however, because of the crosswinds on the hill. The land that the Jampot stands on is owned by the National Trust and taking a short hike up the hill to see this structure and the wonderful views down below is something that should definitely be done whilst staying in Mynytho. Also of interest is the Horeb, a large chapel which is located next to a refreshing spring. There is also another chapel dating from the 18th century called Capel Newydd which is well worth seeing if you have an interest in old architecture, but is now disused and has been for some time.

With a convenience store and a post office, Mynytho has little in terms of amenities but is rich is culture and beautiful scenery. If you are after a pub, however, then the nearest one which serves tasty food as well as drinks is the Ship in Llanbedrog, only one mile away. If you wish to go shopping, then Pwllheli is a great town to visit and is only five miles from Mynytho. With a cinema, theatre, leisure centre, blue flag award winning beach and a sailing marina, Pwllheli has plenty to recommend it for a day out whilst on a self-catering break in nearby Mynytho.

Another wonderful neighbouring village close to Mynytho is Abersoch which is wonderful for water sports and is also home to plenty of shops and restaurants.

Further things to see in and around Mynytho include the Ynys Enlli, the Oriel Plas Glyn-y-Weddw, an art gallery and tea room, only one mile from Mynytho or Bardsey Island Nature Reserve and Snowdonia National Park further afield.
