The accommodation centres around the open-plan living/dining and kitchen area which has an elevated and beamed ceiling adding to the spacious feeling. An impressive tall white ceramic wood burner stands at the sitting end of the room with a soft deep sofa to sink into and comfortable down-filled chairs.   Cream coloured stone floors complement the cream Shaker-style kitchen and careful touches of blue in the art work, books and upholstery add colour to a cream palette.

The kitchen contains all necessary appliances and gadgets to make for a carefree self-catering holiday.  Buy good wines from local vineyards and organic produce from the delicatessen for delicious snacks with drinks. These can be enjoyed outside on the patio where a large sage green wicker table and chairs seats six people in comfort.  Admire the garden and apple orchard whilst you relax, read and make the most of any sunshine.   Summer days tend to be warm and sunny in Oxfordshire and the cooler evenings are pleasant enough for barbeques and outdoor dining.

When night falls and beds beckon, three attractive bedrooms await.  Each has its own individually styled en-suite bathroom. Two twin bedrooms lie at one end of the living area and the master bedroom at the opposite end. 

• The master bedroom features a metal-framed four poster bed and calming neutral tones, for sweet dreams beneath its vaulted ceiling.

•One of the twin bedrooms has matching four poster beds with drapes and an ornate central mirror and chest of drawers between the two.  It has its own private shower room. 

• The second twin bedroom has pristine white duvets that contrast simply with the blue and white striped wallpaper.  The Roman blind at the window matches the patterned headboards. Pictures on the walls create a gentle harmonious effect.  Another shower room belongs to this bedroom.

Access to the mature back garden with an orchard, lawns, roses and perennial borders is from the sitting room and also the master bedroom. The garden and cottage are enclosed by clipped yew hedges and a wooden trellis. Entrance to the property and garden is via a gate which is kept closed by a high bolt.

Beyond the cottage and garden is Bruern Abbey. A communal games room stands nearby and offers a place for family entertainment on showery days and evenings after a day out exploring Oxfordshire or the Cotswolds.
