The town has a quaint and charming centre with numerous pubs, restaurants and cafes, as well as a great shopping district with both high street chains and independent boutiques. Features of the zoo include a Jungle Adventureland which includes a Tarzan Trail for the kids, a Chimpanzee World and a tropical house for reptiles. There are a couple of cafes and restaurants within the zoo as well, to make your trip here complete.

The three mile long golden sandy beach at Colwyn Bay has won awards and there are a couple of dog-friendly sections of the beach, if you plan to take your canine companion with you on holiday to this pretty Welsh town and these areas are marked. The promenade is very picturesque and there are lots of little cafes along the way, as well as cycle paths nearby. Dogs must be kept on leads along the promenade, however Colwyn Bay is perfect for a relaxing and enjoyable break on the north-Wales coastline.
