Although Ysbyty Ifan is tiny, it has a great link to the 16th president of the USA, Abraham Lincoln, as his great-great-grandfather lived in this small settlement. The house where John Morris, Lincoln’s ancestor, lived, is called Bryngwyn which is an old farmhouse that hasn’t been inhabited for around seventy years. The house has not been renovated, however, but is still worth the visit if you have an interest in American history.
Ysbyty Ifan is located in a great place for those wishing to explore Snowdonia and it isn’t too far from the coast if you want to spend the day at the sandy beaches of seaside resorts such as Llandudno and Colwyn Bay.
