One town that is saught after for self-catering accommodation is Newport in the centre of the Isle of Wight. Buses run in all directions from Newport making much of the island accessible without having to drive. This would very much suit hen parties who may be slightly inebriated after a night out or pensioners who do not want the responsibility of driving.
Derbyshire and the Peak District is popular with walking groups and again, lots of walkers might be walking for health on the hills during the day and downing a pint or two after dusk. and preferring to walk back to their accommodation.
