Rent a self catering cottage for a holiday near Callington in Cornwall. The town of Callington lies on the A388, about half way between Launceston and Saltash surrounded by green fields. It's ideal for a self catering rural holiday with some local amenities such as shops, banks and pubs. Callington is proud of its large mural depicting its heritage and its 15th century church.

There are fishing lakes nearby if idling away the hours over water appeals and numerous walks for walkers of all abilities. You could climb Kit Hill in Callington Country Park for good views of the area. Remains of old mine workings can still be seen in the park and surrounding countryside. The Dupath Well House which guards one of Cornwall's holy wells lies about a mile east of the town.

Places to visit include Dartmoor which is about 15 km east, the Donkey Park in the Tamar Valley east of Callington, Cotehele House and Gardens in St Dominick near Saltash.

When booking a self catering cottage holiday you may wish to coincide it with one of the local events such as the carnival in July or the Honey Fair on the first Wednesday in October.
