Rent a self catering cottage for a holiday near the small village of St Dennis on the B3279 road between Newquay and St Austell. It is in a china clay area. Although St Dennis does not have a pottery itself, there are plenty of potteries and galleries to visit throughout Cornwall, see list of potteries and galleries.
Visit during the middle of July to enjoy the spectacle of its carnival and village life. There are a couple of pubs and an hotel for meals out. The village incorporates an iron age fort and some historic buildings that may be of interest to people who enjoy history and going back in time.
