Find a pet-friendly coastal cottage to rent for a holiday in the Lake District.

Rent a holiday home close the sea in Cumbria and enjoy days on the beach with your dogs as well as discovery trips inland. The Cumbrian coast us convoluted with many bays and sands where dogs can accompany you. Morecambe Bay in the south east of the Lake District has some excellent coastal locations, many of which have car parks so that you can easily drive to them, with your pets, from your holiday home. Many more good dog-friendly places are dotted along the Cumbrian coast from Barrow-in-Furness up to Seascale and Whitehaven.

There is a surprisingly good sand and shingle beach at Seascale, and lots of benches to take a rest after a walk.

If you are lucky, there may be a holiday home overlooking a beach or the sea.

Long strolls on the beach are a summer pleasure. Late spring is also good, it is a time when the verges display lots of wild flowers and the weather is kinder. Wrap up warm and take that doggy break.
