Green Award Winning Self-Catering Accommodation in the UK and Ireland

Many people care passionately about the environment and take care to ensure that the services and products that they buy, work hard to limit their carbon footprint. Within the UK and Ireland, the Green Tourism Business Scheme is the main scheme that recognises those self-catering and country cottages that meet certain standards when it comes to sustainability. Look out for the Green Tourism badge being displayed when looking at cottage websites. There are also smaller local schemes that operate within the UK.

If eco-friendly credentials are important to you, ask the owners or agencies for more information about the schemes that they subscribe to. You may also want to browse through these eco-friendly cottages. Click on photos for more information about each.
