This collection of family self catering holiday cottages is located near a zoo, for somewhere good to visit with young children. All cottages will be within driving distance so that your family can enjoy a day out at the zoo. We have some excellent zoos up and down the country; young children appreciate getting close to the animals and the chance of feeding an elephant or giraffe. Colchester Zoo in Essex provides feeding opportunities and the chance to walk with animals in certain enclosures. Whipsnade Zoo in Bedfordshire has animals in wide open spaces and the various safari parks also aim to create a good habitat for the wildlife despite cars of visitors slowly trailing through.

A zoo will not be the only attraction that you may have in mind for your children on holiday, there are softplay centres, open farms, fun fairs, museums, art studios and a whole host of alternative attractions. Click on the various cottages shown to read about other places to visit in the area and see if a particular location grabs your attention.
