Warwick is a large town in the heart of England, located close to Stratford on Avon and Shakespeare’s Country. Surrounded by beautiful countryside and with a magnificent historical castle, Warwick could be an excellent choice for a relaxing self-catering break. Warwick’s best known attraction is undoubtedly its castle. Visit the towers and the dungeons at this unique castle. With gardens and a dedicated area for birds of prey, this castle offers a great day out for all of the family.
Warwick is very well placed for discovering some of the best of what the Heart of England has to offer. Stratford on Avon is just 10 miles away and is a town with many a historical building including the house where William Shakespeare grew up. Stratford upon Avon is highly recommended for a day trip. A river flows through the town, adding to its scenic quality. By the river, you can catch boat trips and also find the Shakespeare Theatre which specialises in his works.
Another attractive town found close to Warwick is Royal Leamington Spa, which is just 2 and a half miles away. With elegant buildings, excellent shopping, bars and restaurants this town is a fine place for a day trip.
