7 Bedroom Large Holiday House close to the Solway Coast
Kirkandrews House stands proudly amongst beautiful parkland grounds in the Cumbrian countryside and features far reaching country views. With a total of 7 bedrooms this large holiday house comfortably sleeps up to 13 people and is ideal for groups of friends or family holidaying altogether.
Ideal Holiday House for Group Getaways close to Gretna Green
At just 6 miles from Gretna Green, this large holiday house could be ideal for a post-wedding celebration or a pre-wedding get-together. Whatever the occasion, this large holiday home has lots to offer with its close proximity to the Solway Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (the scenic Solway coastline is only around 10 miles away), Carlisle (around 10 miles away) and Gretna Green.
Inside Kirkandrews House is spacious and comfortable
On the ground floor is the large sitting room with a warming open fire, the dining room (ideal for celebrating those special occasions), a TV room with widescreen TV and DVD, a Hall that doubles up as a games room with a pool table, a well-equipped kitchen with AGA, an electric oven with ceramic hob, dishwasher and microwave and a large larder fridge, a utility room with freezer and downstairs loo. There is also one en-suite double bedroom on the ground floor (ideal for those who prefer to avoid stairs).
Upstairs are 6 further bedrooms and 2 family bathrooms. The upstairs bedrooms are arranged as follows:
• 2 ensuite double bedrooms
• 3 further double bedrooms and a
• single bedroom.
For guests’ entertainment and enjoyment the property features a pool table and table tennis, along with facilities to play croquet, boules and badminton. The owner has a tennis court nearby and it is possible to fish in the Border Esk (both available by arrangement with the owner). The property features unlimited WiFi but due to the rural location the signal can be weak.
Enjoy Fishing on Holiday
Fishing is possible by arrangement on site (close to the front of the house where guests can fish for free). Additional fishing available at additional cost. We have a 100% catch and return policy. There are chub in the river which will appeal to coarse fishermen. The Salmon season is from 1 Feb to 31 October.
Explore the Local Area on a Group Holiday
Whether you’re looking to celebrate a special occasion with friends or family such as an anniversary, a birthday or another special event, Kirkandrews House offers comfort and plenty of space for big groups.
Close to the property is a historic tower house and all around is unspoilt countryside. The nearby town of Longtown is just 3 miles away and with a cash machine, local convenience shop, bakers, butchers, petrol station, pubs and take-away restaurants offers plenty of facilities. For a larger choice of shops and eateries, the bustling town of Carlisle is just 12 miles away. Carlisle is also worth a visit to see its famous Castle, Cathedral and Museum and close proximity to the M6 and M74 makes it easy to explore further afield.
For those who enjoy exploring the great outdoors, there are good walks locally and in the Langholm hills, The Pennines and the Solway Coast. It’s also possible to visit the Lake District for days out, with the northern parts of the Lake District National Park within around a 30 minute drive.
