A summer holiday in Scarborough with your dogs perhaps?

dog friendly accommodation in scarboroughBy spending just a week here, your holiday will certainly live long in the memory.  There are plenty of beautiful self-catered cottages in which to stay in and have some well-deserved family time. Many of the cottages are pet-friendly and guests are permitted to stay, accompanies by one, two or more dogs. The precise number of dogs is set by the property owner and may be subject to negotiation for very small breeds. Outdoors is pretty good as well. Not only will you be surrounded by amazing natural forestry in which to go walking in with the pet pooch, but you’ll also have glorious views of the North Moors National Park. Alternatively, you could decide to stay on the serene North Bay Blue Flag beach or the popular South beach and wake up to those scintillating sea views; the ones that you’ve always dreamed of.  With a little searching, a Scarborough holiday home with sea views could be yours for a few days or a couple of weeks. Scarborough is full of modern property now along the seafront and you won’t be disappointed as you relax on your spacious terrace with a large mug of Yorkshire tea in hand.

There is much more to Scarborough than its superb sandy beach

Scarborough isn’t all about its spectacular sandy beaches though. Just a short walk from your cottage will get you right in the heart of the town centre and there you’ll find a whole host of things for the entire family to enjoy taking part in.  One of these attractions is the fascinating Rotunda Museum. You could say the museum is an archaeologist’s dream having been instructed to be built by famous English geologist William Smith early in the 19th century. Inside the museum, you can also see how Scarborough looked in the distant past, as well as taking a detailed insight into the type of person that resided in the town at that point. If you head just outside the busy town centre, you’ll find one of the UK’s best kept secrets; Peasholm Park. By hiring a rowing boat or a pedalo, you can casually explore the large lake and set sail to the park’s Japanese themed central island, awash with weeping willows, streaming waterfalls and unique ornaments. Another park to explore in the local area is Royal Albert Park. Just away from the North Bay promenade, the lush green park has incredible clifftop views and leads up to the historic Scarborough Castle, the remains of which dominate the beautiful town skyline. The castle is certainly a grand day out. Not only can you climb to the battlement viewing platforms and look out grandly over the North Sea, but also you can live like an 18th century soldier and have a well-deserved drink in the Master Gunner’s House at the beginning or at the end of your trip.
