Winchester Cathedral

Winchester Cathedral with its long history dating back to the 7th century has a magnificent nave and lengthy list of associated famous people such as Jane Austen. It was also one of the buildings used during the filming of The Da Vinci Code based on the book by Dan Brown.  Groups of people relax and chat in the church grounds during the summer - both locals and tourists.

Myth and Legends in Winchester

The city has strong connections with King Arthur. Some believe that Camelot was in Winchester. King Arthur's round table can be seen hanging from the walls of Winchester Castle to this very day. A statue of King Arthur stands proudly in the high street.
