The lovely Isle of Angelsey in the north west of Wales is a rural delight for a luxurious cottage break.  A drive through north Wales brings visitors across the Menai Straits to an island of peace and pleasure. The backdrop of Snowdonia’s mountains from the eastern side of the island is dramatic.  Inland, numerous farms dotted with sheep and horses create a pretty pastoral picture. Anglesey is an excellent location for a riding holiday through country lanes and bridleways that crisscross the farmland.

The Isle of Anglesey offers gently rolling hills, a good coastline with sandy beaches and lots of places to visit such as Beaumaris Castle, the Aberffraw Bay Heritage Coast, a model village, Foel Farm Park for children, James Pringle Weavers, Pili Pallas Nature World and many more tourist attractions.  Coastal nature reserves around the island are home to breeding birds, care should be taken to keep to established footpaths during the breeding season.  Tourists arrive with their bicycles to explore the quiet roads and enjoy the scenery. There is a steady stream of traffic across the main route to Holyhead and the ferry to Ireland.
