Heartbeat was a popular TV series produced by Yorkshire Television in the UK. It was based on Nicholas Rhea's books which feature an English policeman or bobby in the village of Goathland in the rural community of Aidensfield, in North Yorkshire during the 1960's.
Other stars of the series is the stunning landscapes of the Yorkshire Moors. Railway enthusiasts will want to know that actual North Yorkshire Moors Railway steam engines were used in the series. They operate a regular service from Grosmont, through Goathland and the Yorkshire Moors, all the way to Pickering.
A Heartbeat Story Exhibition held in The Shambles Market Hall, off Church Street in Whitby. It is open daily between Easter and October. A great place to visit for a nostalgic moment.
