Guernsey is a small island which many like to visit for self catering cottage holidays.  Guernsey is actually nearer France than England and is located around 25 miles off the coast of France. 

A beautiful island with fabulous beaches, it has the nickname of 'les ânes' which means 'donkey'. Some people think it refers to the fact that donkeys were once required to climb the steep streets of St Peter's Port.
