Crick is a pleasant village in the county of Northamptonshire set in beautiful countryside and on the Grand Union Canal. Here, on the large marina of the canal, the Crick Boat Show is held each year towards the end of May on a bank holiday weekend. If you happen to be visiting the settlement during May then you must pop along to this fantastic waterways festival. As well as boat-owners showcasing their boats, visitors can listen to the bands performing, get some tasty food and drink, hop aboard a boat for a trip along the canal or take the children to the fairground for a ride or two.
The village has a few facilities including a mini supermarket and a post office, and there are three pubs to settle into in the evenings – The Wheatsheaf, The Red Lion and The Royal Oak. These pubs also serve food.
Walkers will love ambling through the rural backdrops or taking strolls along the canal with friends and family, and there are plenty of places in which to stop off for a picnic, to soak up the impressive surroundings. Crick has a wonderful, friendly feel to it, and there are lots of cottages available to rent here, where you can settle into the Northamptonshire way of life and come to know Crick and its surrounding settlements really well.
