The village of Austrey is located in the very north of Warwickshire in a peaceful and idyllic part of the county. Although quite a small settlement, there is a thriving community in Austrey with an active village life. Home to two churches, including one that dates from the 13th century, a village shop stocking all the goods you will need if renting a self-catering cottage here, and a wonderful 15th century thatched pub, The Bird In Hand, Austrey has a delightful feel to it. It is especially excellent for those who love horse riding as there are stables here where you can see the wonderful scenery of the area on horseback. For a day trip out from Austrey you and your loved ones could visit the market town of Tamworth in Staffordshire, 7 miles away.
