Minions is the highest village in Cornwall, set up at 300 m on the south eastern edge of Bodmin Moor 6 km north of Liskeard. This is is Cornwall's granite country where granite was quarried and exported from Looe harbour for building. A stack of granitie rocks called the Cheesewring sits on the edge of a quarry on Stowe's Hill near Minions. Visit the Minions Heritage Centre for a history of the area and find out more about the quarrying and tin mining industries of old. Visitors out walking also come across the remains of engine houses attached to disused mines and stone circles called Hurlers.
