The village of Wookey Hole can be found in the county of Somerset in south west England and is home to an assortment of shops and restaurants, plus a pub. The main attraction to Wookey Hole is the tourist site of the Wookey Hole Caves. These show caves are located by the picturesque Mendip Hills and make an excellent and eerie visit, with its underground streams that trickle through the caves and the famous Witch of Wookey Hole – a human shaped rock outcrop. The legend goes that a witch was turned to stone by a monk, and these creepy caves have been used by humans for an incredible 50,000 years making them simply fascinating to visit.

Also in Wookey Hole is the Site of Special Scientific Interest, Ebbor Gorge, a National Trust-owned nature reserve and limestone gorge, which is great to visit as it is less crowded than the caves. Walkers may wish to take the long-distance footpaths of the Mendip Way and the Monarch’s Way which pass through the village, or you may which to take your friends and family on a day trip to the Grade II listed Glencot House, which dates from 1887. Whatever you decide to do, you and your loved ones are bound to have a fun and exciting time when residing inear Wookey Hole.
