The village of Steventon is on the edge of the Berkshire Downs, about 5 miles south west of Abingdon, south Oxfordshire. It's an excellent place for walkers to stay with several footpaths leading out of the village into the countryside. The Ridgeway is just 2 miles away. Anyone with a love of old buildings will enjoy the 14th century church and the old priory half-timbered cottages, now cared for by the National Trust.
